Illini Review
The Fighting Illini are having
a hard time winning this season and their woes will continue till the end
of the season. This team doesn't have any experience but will mature
with the more games they play. The seniors that left last year were
the best team the Illini has had since the Flyin' Illini of 89' with Kendall
Gill, Kenny Battle, and Nick Anderson to name a few. If the older
players would step up and score more than they are this team probably wouldn't
be as bad as they are. Arias Davis is a great shooter but he can't
be consistant and that hurts him and the Illini. Lucas Johnson has
a lot of promise and Cory Bradford and Cleotis Brown are looking really
good. I think Nate Mast should start over Sergio McClain because
of his exceptional ball handling and passing skills. If Sergio should
start anywhere it should be at a forward for Fess Hawkins. Fess is
having a bad year and will adapt with time. Fess needs to get more
physical and use his big body. That is my 2 cents and thats my opinion.
